Since a young age, Dr. Kashani aspired to be a medical doctor due to her curiosity in how bodily functions and dysfunctions work. At the age of seventeen, Dr. Kashani started experiencing heavy abdominal pains and, despite consulting with three different medical doctors and taking various tests (all of them negative), it was not clear what was wrong. Doctors believed her conditions to be psychosomatic. She then decided to visit an Acupuncturist, who after listening to her symptoms, looked at her tongue, felt her pulse, and immediately diagnosed her ailment as Candida Albicans. She was placed on a strict diet and some natural supplements. After following her course of treatment, she was finally free from the pain and discomfort.
It was then that Dr. Kashani became intrigued in Chinese medicine and decided to pursue her studies in this field. She realized that the mind and body are intricately connected; therefore she pursued her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. Upon graduation, Dr. Kashani moved onto a six year journey of mastering the art of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine. She simultaneously pursued a Homeopathic degree at the University of Complementary Medicine. During clinical training, she also completed an externship at the UCLA Health Center. In completion of her doctoral studies, Dr. Kashani started a fellowship at Good Samaritan Hospital working as an Acupuncturist in the Cardiac and Acute Rehabilitation Department. She also completed a fellowship at the Venice Family Clinic where she treated economically disadvantaged patients. Upon completing her doctorate, she then traveled to China to immerse herself in the traditions of Chinese medicine, which led to a fellowship at Yunnan Provincial Hospital.
